"Peptidome: a comprehensive fact-database for endogenous peptides."
This web site is managed to make the Peptidome database available through the internet system. "Peptidome" means a whole set of peptides present in a specific cell, tissue, organism or system. We started in 1999 the Peptidome project to establish the intellectual database for medical, biological and pharmaceutical research by accumulating the fact-data of the endogenous peptides in cells, tissues and organisms. This project was supported in 1999-2004 by the Special Coordination Funds for Promoting the Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. The database is maintained and increased the data number in 2004-2006 by the support of the Grants-in-Aid program for Publication of Scientific Research Results of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
